Shivkrupa Bharatnatyam

Courses offered:

The courses that are taught in the Shivkrupa Bharatnatyalaya are as per the syllabus prescribed by Bruhat Gujarat Sangeet Samiti for diploma and post graduate diploma. The diploma course is known as ‘Visharad’ and is for 7 years the post graduate diploma ‘Alankar’ is for 2 years. Its structure includes both theory and practical. The certificates of the Visharad and Alankar by this institution are recoganised by the Government of Gujarat. Students who have completed these courses are qualified to teach in schools as full time teachers.

Facilities:

The Shivkrupa Bharatnatyalaya has its own costumes for the students of all age group. Separate costumes are available for practice dancing as well as for Arangetram. The institute also has its own accompanying artist group (Vocalist, Percussionists, String and Wind instrument players). It also has facilities for audio and video recording for students. The Natyalaya has all teaching books and ornaments to be used by learners and performers.

Other Features

The Natyalaya contributes to the development of other institutions in different places in Gujarat by offering services of their teachers as visiting teachers. Some of the places where the teachers of the Natyalaya go are Surat, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Anand, Nadiad and Daman.

Admission Procedure

Generally the new sessions commence on June 15th of every year. Admissions are given to children above 7 years. Each student is taught for twice a week. Students are expected to wear uniforms while they are undergoing training. Admission forms are available with the Shivkrupa Bharatnatyalaya. Admissions are also given in between in special cases.
